I have donated 75,000 to the support the building of solar energy for the orphanages as well as retaining and safety walls around the entire orphanage. I was friends with the family that ran the orphanage because I went to High School at the same school she was a teacher at. The family lost their husband in Haiti he was shot in the head and murdered. I felt helping the orphanage was a good thing to do because they were lacking funding for important projects that would allow for safety from storms and outsiders. The solar project helped provide electricity to the entire orphanage. I will continue my support of the orphanage moving forward. Each year they are to present me with a project that the entire orphanage will be involved with so it creates jobs for the people in the orphanage as well as improves there living situation.
I also did work providing solar energy for Jon Barcus and his non profit out of south Africa. Johns group does has an orphanage that they run for small children in south Africa and was in need of power to provide lighting as well as generate electricity for the well pump so they had fresh water.
